I'm 24 years old...
When I was 16 I was addicted to alcohol, and marijuana
When I was 17 I was addicted to alcohol, and marijuana
When I was 18 I was addicted to alcohol, marijuana, and xanax
When I was 19 I was addicted to alcohol, marijuana, and xanax
When I was 20 I was addicted to alcohol, marijuana, xanax vicodin, and mdma
When I was 21 I was addicted to alcohol, marijuana, xanax, vicodin, and mdma
When I was 22 I was addicted to alcohol, marijuana, xanax, vicodin, mdma, cocaine, and promethazine (or any other drug I could get my hands on)
When I was 23 I was addicted to alcohol, xanax, and cocaine

Now that I'm 24 I'm addicted to alcohol and marijuana

I haven't been on xanax since I haven't been able to get my hands on it for over 6 months but I would do anything to get prescribed it.. I also don't do any other drugs anymore either..

I guess my post is about how baffled I am about how I've never been addicted to cigarettes even though my boyfriend smokes enough for the both of us and I've tried to smoke them in the past but I just never liked them.... weird. (Yes, I'm aware this is a good thing)

I took up smoking in my late teens because it seemed like the thing to do; all my friends did. I never smoked cigarettes by myself, only with others hanging out when I felt like I ought to have one. This was mid to late 70s, which was kind of the turning point where most of the medical community accepted the evidence linking smoking to average shorter life spans and started making a lot of noise about it. When I accepted that, I quit cold turkey and never had another. It was easy because like you, I never developed an addiction to cigarettes.

My body has a love hate relationship with cigarettes. Now that I've taken up vaping, I can't smoke a full cigarette for the life of me. Makes me sick. I guess it's because our bodies aren't MEANT to like cigarettes. They are a rolled assortment of poisons for our lungs

Cigarettes are not a game or a relationship. They are an addiction because of nicotine. It's possible to quit. More people have quit smoking in the US than smoke now.

That good, it's better not to like the cigarette.

Why is smoking so bad for a person?
The tar sticks to clothing, skin, and the insides of our lungs! With the nicotine and tar working together, there are a lot of bad diseases linked to smoking cigarettes. Diseases like throat cancer, mouth cancer, bladder cancer, lung cancer, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and heart disease are all caused by smoking.

I'm pretty aware of how bad cigarettes are for your health...my whole thing is that...usually I obviously don't care about my health but when it comes to that I just can't do it. I'm aware that it's a good thing tho
