I had 7 years of sobriety on the 13th. I remember being annoyed it wasnt the 12 so my date could have been 12/12/12. I could share my story but it would bore people. Anyone who uses 12 steps probably has heard it before. I am not the same person I used to be.

I think its symbolic that it's on the 13th. You were going against the stream, eg the symbolism to beat the odds.
Im with bp that you story would not be old hat to anyone.
