I am a new member. I struggle with a mental illness and drug addiction. I was an IV user and quit for almost 4 years from all substances. I have started smoked weed again and also started using my DOC regularly. It’s causing lots of physical issues and I’m not working due to the pain I’m constantly in. I don’t have insurance so I’m not currently getting treatment for any medical condition and I’m off all psych meds. I also am coming out if a very abusive relationship that lasted 7 years. I don’t want to quit at the moment but I need to get a handle on my use.

Welcome! Comorbidity between mental health issues & substance abuse issues is quite common. You don't mention what your drug of choice is, but if it's the IV drug use you mentioned, you're in grave danger. I know you said you don't want to quit using right now but, in my case, there was no such thing as "getting a handle" on my use other than quitting altogether. Drinking & drugging also made my mental health issues much worse. These are things you're probably aware of already, though. I just wanted to post to welcome you. I Hope you post here again to let us know how you are doing.
