I've been taking way too much lately.
Possible trigger:

I have stashes so running out won't be a problem for a while then it'll be a big problem.

I take Klonopin (Clonazepam) 2 mg. / day. I guess this isn't a very high dosage. But I'm an older person. And at higher dosages, there is a risk of falls in older people who take it. So 2mg. per day is about the most I can take. However, even at my relatively low dosage, I wouldn't want to go off cold turkey, so to speak.

So I hope that if you aren't going to continue taking it, or if you can't for some reason, you'll be able to use some of that stash you mentioned to taper yourself off as gradually as possible. I recall reading a post by another member a while back who did go off all at once. And I recall the member writing they couldn't sleep for days. It sounded as though it was a pretty unpleasant experience for them... best to be avoided if you can arrange it. Best wishes...

Tapering off a benzo is best done very slowly and ideally with a Dr's help. Stopping cold turkey can be both unpleasant and dangerous, you can have seizures depending on how long/how much you've been taking.

I went from taking 5 mg/day down to 1mg/day but that was over years of gradual reductions, and I'm about to drop down to .75 mg/day and I'm a bit nervous about that, but I need to get off it, as it's affecting my memory and my balance.

It's not really that I'm taking a lot every day. It's like once a week I'll fall and take like 6-8mg.

I'm now off it completely. I got down to .5 mg, and was going to stay at that dose for another week, and then go down to .25 mg., but I accidentally knocked my pill bottle off the shelf and the lid came off and the pills spilled under one of my book cases. So I thought I'd see how I got on without it. and it's been 4 days now, and I'm not having any withdrawal, so I'm just going to stay off it.

I'm still taking diazepam that I'd cross tapered onto to help with the clonazepam taper, so I'll taper off that over the next couple of months.

Since you are not taking it to use daily as anti anxiety or for medication but haphazardly to get high id suggest flushing all of it so you don’t have it to tempt you. Taking it that way is very dangerous but I think that’s half the attraction for you.
