Anyone getting ready to taper off & give up smoking pot? I'm most afraid of the withdrawal sickness, and emotions during and after. I'm 53 y.o. artist (thank goodness I have creativity to aid me!) and I'm tapering off this week to begin total abstinence on Saturday. I have a little time off (a week) and luckily my work is very light & I work from home.
I've read up on several herbal aids during wd's, Milk thistle, Scullcap, Ginseng all seem helpful with different aspects. Anyone take any of these or others and what did you find helpful/unhelpful (like any side effects?)
Any tips you can give someone starting on this journey? I find some of the 12 steps helpful, however I'm more interested in natural remedies, nutrition, etc.
Thanks! Forestwalker

Hi @Forestwalker congrats on going off pot. It can really confuse the mind. Tapering is a good way to go.

I find that a strong cup of peppermint tea settles the stomach and gives me a mellow relaxing feeling. Like 3 teabags or a teaball filled with loose peppermint tea works good. If you like it you can get a whole pound of peppermint tea from amazon at a reasonable price.

I also find yoga helps me too and it is a 20 minute Complete Beginners yoga by Adrienne on yuutube. 5 minute Tai Chi is easy to do on youtube and helps get the endergy moving.

Ginger helps if I have nausea or need to open up the airways.

I don't have any personal experience with pot withdrawal, but I've met a few people who went through it and if I recall correctly anxiety was a big part of it.

I just wanted to say good luck and to take it a day, or an hour, or a minute at a time. You can do this.
