I've been talking with DePressMe and we've decided to try and get some structure into the Recovery Chat.

The purpose of the chat is for people who are struggling with some sort of addiction to come together and talk. This can be addiction to alcohol, drugs, pills, SI etc.

The best kind of help sometimes for an addict who is recovering, or wants to recovery, is sharing experience strength and hope with other addicts. For me, addiction is anything we do to get an instant gratification, and instant fix and when that thing becomes out of control, it can become an addiction.

So we're going to try to keep the chat more focused on addiction issues; one addict sharing with another. At first I thought the non-structured chat would work but its quickly getting off track so we've decided to have a topic raised at the beginning of the chat. And then we'll stick to that topic for the most part during the hour.

The topic will be first come first serve, and will be related to addiction and recovery. None of us in this chat are therapists or medical professionals, so its not like DocJohn's chat. Its just people sharing their experience strength and hope with one another.

Hope to see our fellows in recovery or seeking recovery this Tuesday! I hope we can keep it more structured to give everyone the chance to find out what recovery is all about. We hope to get the all the kinks worked out soon!!
