Hi there. I've searched the web but I was hoping someone here might have a readily-available answer for me. It's like preferring to speak to a rep versus using the automated system for paying bills or dealing with banks... lol
I'm in Texas and was wondering if there were any Texans out there who could point me in the right direction for local AA meetings for adult children of alcoholics. I desperately need the support of such a group. I found a book titled Healing for Adult Children of Alcoholics and it literally described ME. All the little intricacies that I believed were faults and failures were all there in that book... even down to very personal, psychological issues! So yeah, wow. My husband is ALSO an ACA and we've agreed to both attend these support groups if we could find one. A local chapter in my area stopped hosting these groups, like, a few years ago, so I was rather hoping for a new support group that might not yet be published on the web. Anyhoo, any suggestions or thoughts are welcome! Have a nice day. __________________ "True beauty comes from goodness, kindness and strength of character." |

Well.....if you haven't already, you could try using this form to contact ACA to see if others in your area would want to start a new group?:
http://www.adultchildren.org/contact4others/ With your permission they will connect you to others in your area. Slippers |
