I hope this is okay to ask here. I apologize if it is not.

I am wondering how does a person stop using crystal meth without having to stop by going to jail.

How do you stop doing something that has been a part of you for more than 16 years?

How do you make the back pain go away and the crazy thoughts not be there?

How is it that you can hate something so much that has become such a need to you now?

Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I guess the first step is to reach out for help (as you have). And then... Try to find some IRL. Someone to talk to... Some kind of support... Maybe a program or group if there is one. Someone to talk to about the reasons why you use so you can figure some alternative coping strategies. Sometimes a change in setting helps, too (cutting off ones supply).

At first glance , ..... By way of your siggy ,, Your sense of humor is definatley intact .. LOL [ familiar too ] hehe.

I hear ya asto that " besides going to jail " bit ..... unfortunately that is the option that ,, not choosen ,, but often happens ..{enough of that though }.

You could always do the ol' >>.* look at all the money I 've spent ,, orrrrrrrr ,, what a waste of time thingy ,, orrrrrrrrr ,, WoW !! Remember when I thought [ such & such ] was happening ,, only to turn out to be paranoid delusions ..

But the most practicle would be IMO ,, use some valiums and keep yourself occupied ,,,, enjoy M&M's by the jumbo bag full ..
and know that no matter how many times you put it down ,,, [ not use ] >>>>.........Since you still have your sense of humor >> You could re-direct your thinking towards it by making the " Fact " that you are quitting >> Just the cruelest Joke in the world ...and your just waiting for the * punch line *.....

Punchline would be the Happiness that you find in the smallest things >> like when times were simpler >> and we were all ALOT younger .

Take Sweet Care Misswho ,.

If you feel comfortable with your physician, I would consult with him/her about the safest method to get off meth. Your conversation with him/her is confidential. I am aware that there are some legitimate ways/methods to do this with prescription help for any withdrawal symptoms. I just don't know the ones they use.
Some rehabs will help you with this also but if you don't have insurance it may be a stretch. If you work, they cannot fire you for getting help. Course I wouldn't suggest you tell them too much either. Your docotor could help you with that also.
After treatment you can consider joining a support group in the community for others like yourself wanting to stay clean.
Wanting to get clean is a good start for a successsful recovery.
