I have been attending my Alanon group for quite a number of years but for the last two years I have been in a lot of turmoil over some personal stuff. I have been able to get some help from my psychologist, therapist and this Alanon group. This past week, due to cathartic type events, I was able to thank my group for being there for me for so many years and especially these last two.

May I also add that this epiphany was propelled through by some wonderful people here on PC. It could not have happened before or after this, in other words the timing was impeccable. I owe a huge thanks to these incredible people and although I have thanked them, I also wanted to thank my Alanon Adult Children of Alcoholics Group who laboured with me, never giving advice but just listening, over these issues until resolution.

As I wept when 'this' unfolded over the last week, tears filled their eyes as I told them the story of my spiritual healing breakthrough.

Thanks to all

I think 'gratitude' is the be-all, cure-all, Pepto-bismal of the 12-steps.

Where 'resentment' is the epitomy of what ails us, 'gratitude' is the essence of what saves us.

So happy for you.

I too am very grateful for al-anon. It has helped me to survive a crazy relationship with an ACOA. Better yet I feel like it is helping me to be come the person I was meant to be.
