In a few weeks time I am expected to have a sports ‘fun day’ at work, with a team junk food lunch in the middle of it. At the moment, I get breathless and get chest pains very easily and will not honestly be able to partake in field sports, let alone sit around a table and eat in front of others.

It’s a struggle not to pass out at work as it is. Do you think, even though work know NOTHING about my ED, that I should ask to work in the office and miss the day, or suck it up, even though the whole thing makes me incredibly anxious? I wouldn’t know how to answer the ‘why can’t you take part’ question from my boss if I did ask to be excused.

Sorry, this sounds like such a trivial thing, it just feels me with fear.

Oh, we had one of those once, over in a park. Another time we had like a carnival day, next to the office, so we could still go in and out, but i almost got heatstroke being outside most of the day.

Geez, they lock you up inside all year, then expect you to go outside? How is this in your job description? I would tell your boss i had reservations (not specific) about spending the day outside and that i would volunteer to remain in the office.
