I believe I do not have any antisocial personality in me.. Just that at times I do wish to be alone for some reasons. But lately i realize I avoid hanging around with people i not familiar with and dislike making new friends and meeting people. Have I form an antisocial personality without me knowing? How can this be cured?

No, that doesn't sound at all like ASPD. It sounds like you're introverted and maybe have some social anxiety?

I'd recommend reading the anxiety forum and going to counselling.

I dont think you'll need counseling for a little bit of social anxiety...it could just be that you don't feel completely comfortable and you have an introverted personality. I don't think there is anything wrong with you what you say sounds completely normal to me. I think the best thing for you would be to break out of your shell and overstep your mental boundaries to feel more comfortable and gain your confidence back in a social environment
Thanks for this!

Yeah that's a good point Matt. I guess I'm just assuming (always a stupid thing to do right?!) that it's more than just a little anxiety if someone's at the point of seeking help on a forum.

It's not dumb, I can see what you mean. I just like to try to see if it's something people can work out on their own before turning to others for treatment. I guess he's already turned to us for advice, but from what he's said it doesn't seem like it's ruining his life too much, but that's me assuming

While medications do not directly treat the behaviors that characterize antisocial personality disorder, they can be useful in addressing conditions like depression, anxiety, and mood swings that co-occur with this condition.
If untreated, people with antisocial personality disorder are at risk for developing or worsening a myriad of other mental disorders. Antisocial personality disorder individuals are also at risk for self-mutilation or dying from homicide or suicide.
Many people with antisocial personality disorder experience a remission of symptoms by the time they reach 50 years of age. this is copied from Antisocial Personality Disorder Treatment, Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Risk Factors - MedicineNet

I believe I can achieve a much better sense of people and relaxation spending quality time at home with my by bet friends and K-9 companion, he quiet a complete comfort to me and put me at peace with the work Biologically speaking when you have close touching with your pet -petting massage and lots of touching both your pet and you get a hormone you your body and your pets boy produces called Oxytocin and you both feel better --I'm just not so sure another person seem to produce the same effect.

I like people of quality, but people add stress to my life , and the general rule with all people is the world "compromise" which means both people don't really get what they want. Early adapter
