I seem to always be bored. I read an earlier thread in the forum discussing how boredom could be linked to increased antisocial actions. Lately, I have been unemployed, and it may be said that I've experienced a surplus of both. Sometimes I'll visit this site when bored, but this forum has been a bit quite as of late. So i figured, this post could kill two birds with one stone. My question is how often do other members of this sub forum get bored, and what are some good ways to alleviate boredom?

I'm always trying to kill time - It feels like that's all there is to do.

I play the "game" in ways that don't break the law. That's the only thing I've found that's remotely effective in combating my boredom.
Thanks for this!

That's the main thing that's ever lasted for me as well. I think it's because it's never the same, and you always learn new things
Thanks for this!

Exactly. Everyone is different and every situation is different so you always learn new tricks and such. What fun!

I think learning can be useful. I tend to read random books and research random topics. I recently took to learning languages.

Play an interesting game of chess against an opponent I like to call reality and then see how things pan out when you try different things.

I actually have BPD and I struggle with boredom every day. I play a lot of solitaire, memory games, number games. I try keeping myself busy with chores, playing with the kids, keep up with news and weather, concentrate on my health.

Not a lot of ground breaking input, I know. I'm just starting my recovery process and still trying to find ways to conquer boredom. But what is the "game"? Hard to find that one out by a Google search and I can use all the help I can find.

I constantly play video games,, I'm addicted to social media, I browse the web for interesting facts and articles about whatever leaks my interest at the time. I draw, I exercise, I sing, listen to music, watch videos on YouTube, go out and have fun when I can afford it, drink. Any of these help?

Meh, try getting a hobby and devoting your time to that. It could be anything you find interesting and worth doing long term.

I tried that. It was boring. I troll people and start fights without concern for the consequences on the web to combat stress and boredom.
