Are we allowed to have casual discussions here? If we're supposed to be a "community" why not take a break from the doom and gloom of strictly talking about mental illness and talk about something we actually like? Maybe it'd help with the boredom…

Sure, there is a sub forum called General Social Chat and Games. Your post is in Antisocial PD, so the topic should be about that. It doesn't have to be doom and gloom though.

I've never felt restricted to only talking about mental health in this forum, in fact I've noticed that thread hijacking with dark humor seems to be the norm around here.

its my understanding that each of the forums designated for mental disorders is for discussing that mental disorder or that grouping of mental disorders.

for general conversations like social, jokes and neutral discussions goes in...

my point there are many places here on psych central that I visit when I want to take a break from talking about mental illness problems.

heres a suggestion if there isnt a social group for joke telling maybe you can start one.
