Over the past few months, I've noticed that though I've had less "random" panic attacks, I've started having more set off by specific triggers.

One of them that really bothers me is loud noises/ sound.

I am no longer able to enjoy fire works, because every time I hear/see them, I have a panic attack. I skipped out on fourth of july this year because I didn't want to have a panic attack in front of my family.

I also had a panic attack after getting into a fight with my father.

Should I be concerned, or is this just me being paranoid again?
Thanks for this!

Hey Dawr. Try not to worry too much about the "next" panic attack if you can. I know its hard to do, but maybe try to picture yourself acting cool and calm when thinking ahead about anxiety provoking situation in the future...

Talking to someone professionally and medication will help tremendously, but until you do that try to remember these things(they helped me a lot).

---Panic attacks and its symptoms are uncomfortable, but they're not dangerous! You don't need to fight them because they aren't life threatening. The more you fight the symptoms the worse it will seem. DON'T FIGHT!

---No matter where you are, your "free" to leave. Never feel trapped. You can always have a good excuse to leave if its too much, or stay and have a good time. YOU HAVE OPTIONS!

---Its important to tell someone about your problems if you can. Its important to know you'll have support if you need it. Almost everyone has heard of panic attacks these days don't be embarassed to have one, or tell others about your feeling. DON'T HIDE!

Hope these help a little.
Best of luck
Thanks for this!

I have panic disorder, and if you feel that your panic attacks are disrupting or taking control of your quality of life than I would go see a Dr. There is meds out there to control it.

Are you seeing a therapist? I sometimes loud noises will send me into a panic - it's about that trapped feeling that I can't get out. I often skip July 4th unless I am off in an area that is not so claustrophobic. If these are new symptoms then talking with someone is a great idea and I like what someone else said about finding a supportive person to be around you when you might encounter a situation.

Although panic attacks will not kill you when you are in the middle of them they certainly feel terrifying and overwhelming. It's hard to imagine they will ever go away once they start.

I am finding meds to be a great help right as I am really going through a lot of panic.

Keep us posted - but you are not ALONE!!!
