Tried it. Didn't do anything for me but on the bright side no side effects.

Years ago I was on BuSpar. It worked very well for me. You have to take it daily; it's not like xanax where you take it "as needed." And it takes time to build up in your system. So, give it a few weeks to take effect before giving up on it. Typically, it's 4-6 weeks for full effect, I believe. But, it will start to take effect before then.
You should not have any mind altering effects from BuSpar. Peace!

Hi Mom,
![]() Yes I have been on buspar for over 3 yrs. I take it as a mood stabilizer. ![]() Buspar is a fantastic medication, it is extremely reliable and very safe, & dependable. It is an older medication - been around a long time & is not *mind altering* ![]() I think you will do well with it! All the Best, Holmes |

I have never taken Buspar. Instead I take Klonopin. However, it sounds like Buspar got some excellent reviews and that you got some good information on how to take it from the above responders. Good for you in not yielding to the more addictive meds! billieJ
