Does anyone else have anxiety over horror movie ads on TV? My husband watches science fiction which is weird to me personally. They will make a horror movies about anything. Maybe it is just me, I worry period and these movie ads tend to make me paranoid along with my husband watching weird stuff. I don't have to look, just the sound gets to me. I know it is Hollywood. I know I am rambling, I am, also, trying to control my OCD and anxiety. I am a nutcase.

Well horror movies and their trailers seem funny to me, but I am not terrified by them, neither get any anxiety.

Not exactly anxiety but repulsion....plus I avoid if I
can or scrunch my whole body...

Actually David Letterman has been putting really
ghastly scenes on a sketch called things better than reading
Sarah Palin's book....he showed someone with a head in a vice
etc. I am shuddering thinking about it. I live in
Australia so don't know how to complain about it.

I can't watch anything that is really bloody. Fake or not. That will trigger my anxiety, and sometimes I feel like I'm either going to vomit, or passout. If someone goes into details about anything like that, I get those feelings.

Some movies, like that new one called 2012, kind of freak me out. It's like "what if that really happened?" Movies about aliens especially freak me out.

There was only one horror movie that totally freaked me out, and made me never want to see it again. It was the movie Hostel. It was so realistic I was totally repulsed. I am usually not bothered by any movies. In fact I am probably like your husband in a sense that I love to watch sci-fi movies. I don't think it's weird, but each to his own. Ever since I had a ufo sighting I have been drawn to science.

That's the movie that set me off. I hate them. I know because I researched it, that it is a money making scheme based on an old calender. The actual historical event that it is actually referring to happened in 1999 but you know the movie industry is going to make money on anything they can. I don't like horror movies period and the commericials freak me out and I don't actually look at them just hearing the sounds.

I hate them too, I completely agree with you. I though I was alone with this fear, it's comforting to know that I'm not

Thanks everyone. I am glad I am not the only one with these fears. I don't read or watch the news. I don't want to know what is going on in outer space, I don't even want to look at the pictures. I freak when they keep sending the space shuttle up and something happens to malfunction. I avoid the television as much as possible and really try to watch where I go on the internet. (This can be really hard especially if my OCD is acting up, and I say I am facing my fears, but I really just feeding the OCD.) Thanks again everyone. At least I know I am not alone.
