I wouldn't think so, unless maybe you had some kind of allergic reaction that led to a panic attack. Have you ever eaten walnuts before?

You are assuming the panic is related to eating walnuts...
I suspect it was your thoughts you were having while eating the walnuts that started the anxious feelings.

Ah! It's possible that the nuts prompted the asthma and then the asthma and panic don't mix very well either. It would be interesting to see if other nuts did the same thing to you but I'd be really careful as nuts can be dangerous for some people. Might be worth mentioning to your doctor also.

Walnuts are very good for your heart. Did you have any itching in the back of your throat? If you have a walnut allergy, it could trigger not breathing well/your asthma and that could have caused the panic, etc. If you wonder, I just wouldn't eat walnuts! I was reading about one woman who had the itching in the back of her throat whenever she ate walnuts and was at a friends and the friend's father overheard and told her not to eat them, that is a clear sign of a food allergy and they can get much worse and be life threatening. I would ask your doctor what they think and/or eat some walnuts while at the doctor's :-) and see what happens.

I have the same problem with peanuts. I have loved peanuts and peanut butter for so long. But I had read a Stephan King book where this man's kids were having a sleep over and he was eating some Thai food with peanut sauce and one of his kid's friends woke up and wanted a glass of water so the man gave him some and turns out the kid was allergic to peanuts and the man had not washed his hands before he got th ewater and the boy suffered a severe allergic reaction and died. Everytime I eat peanuts I remember reading about that and I freak out thinking I have an allergy to peanuts. Weird, I know. But it happens to me everytime I eat peanuts.
