I am new to this site, and am wondering if there is a live chat available, other than the scheduled times noted pertaining to different topics? If so, how does one get into the chat room(s)?

Hi teachinggal
![]() To my knowledge, all topic-related chats on this site are scheduled. There will be a "Live Chat Happening Now" notice at the top of the page to alert you. You can click onto "Live Chat" to enter, where you will see a list of rooms & if anything in particular is being discussed there. Sometimes, you'll need to scroll down to see them. And, unless you know who is hosting the chat & are familiar with it, you might need to enter the room in order to find out what the topic is. (Don't feel badly about dropping in for only a few seconds- sometimes people do that.) Most of the rooms are for general support, so if you don't find what you're looking for, you can join a room & just ask anyone there a question, which might start a chat. You can enter a room by clicking onto the green door at the top right corner of the page (scrolling over the icons will tell you what they do). If it looks like no one there is up to chatting about it, you can read recent posts & find a member who suffers from similar problems, send them a PM (private message) & ask them if they'd be willing to join a chat room with you at a certain time. It's an open room, though, so it may not just be the two of you, & other conversations will be going on at the same time. You can enter the chat rooms at any time simply by clicking "chat" at the top of the page. Hope this helps! |

Thank you Psyched for a great explanation! The only thing I can add to this is that if you wish to have a private conversation with another member you can create your own chat room as well. This self created chat room can be open to other members or you can password protect it for privacy.
