So just came back from pdoc and she thinks I might have GAD.

So can anyone tell me i they get irritated and aggressive/abusive much? Get paranoid much? Have trouble relating to others?

I do admit to have anxiety at times but isn't some level of anxiety normal?

What in the opinion of a GAD sufferer would being the defining symptoms?

I almost felt like laughing at her when she said I may have it, and basically think she maybe be a moron now, even though I know she's not (she has a masters to prove it lol). Is that a usual response for some people?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I'm seriously reconsidering my night appointment.

Cheers

I had GAD and had a certain view of the world that made me appear aggressive/abusive :-) It felt much more comfortable to have all the answers rather than not know. But that's just made up, can't know most things until they happen. Hard to catch myself and switch to letting situations develop however they actually did instead of trying to force them into what I wanted to see.

I have GAD, and I am irritable a lot. With me, it's a certain view of the world like others are always judging me, or may judge me. This causes my symptoms...sweating, shaking, nervousness, irritability, some panic, etc. I really think my symptoms sound more like social anxiety than GAD, but pdoc and T are the experts I guess. If you feel like you might have a bit of anxiety, I think it'd be a good idea to keep your appointment. A little nervousness can turn into a full blown anxiety disorder in time, so you want to get help for it before your symptoms become worse. Good luck

I've been told recently that I have GAD. Came here to PC's Conditions and Disorders looking for a description of it (http://psychcentral.com/disorders/sx24.htm) and found their description very accurate to what I feel, especially the first 2 paragraphs. Don't know if you feel that way too. In the list of symptoms, they mention irritability, which I happen to have too, a lot!
Good luck, and I would not cancel the appointment until I knew exactly why my pdoc thinks I might have GAD.
