This my first time writing a post on this particular thread of Psych Central. I usually post on the PTSD thread or some the social threads.
The reason I'm posting on this one is because my anxiety has gotten noticeably worse since I recieved a jury summons last Saturday. Fortunately I've gotten off it. My psychiatrist wrote a letter to the courts saying that it wouldn't be a a good idea for me to show up for it.
Anyway, ever since I got the summons I've been anxious.
I guess I've always been nervous and fearful. I know I can't hold a job because of it. Now I'm afraid of going anywhere just about. Oh, I will take my dog on walks with no problem and I can go to the store, but going out to appointments bothers me and anything new I find intimidating.

Hi michelle#3.
Fears that limit us are so frustrating.
Do you see a therapist? It would be so interesting to explore with a therapist your feelings about the jury summons. A therapist will listen to you with interest and acceptance and without judgement.

Yes, I see a therapist and you better believe I'm going to talk to her about this extreme anxiety.

I'm glad to hear you'll be talking to your T. Gosh I hate it when fears get their nasty grip on us and we're completely debilitated by it. I hope you get to the bottom of things and can share your new insight. I hate new things and meeting new people on my own scares me sooooo badly too.

I'm still feeling really anxious. I've talked to two different therapists about this. I'm working on doing breathing exercises and walking when I can (today hasn't too good for this. Too windy and rainy.). Also I've been drinking herbal tea. Still, I have thoughts I haven't had in years and I feel scared and irritable.
Maybe I'll get some kind of med for this from my p.
