Is Zoloft the best medicine for anxiety and depression for teenagers?
What is the average amount? I have been told 150mg is average?
Is there something better? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hi there I have taken zoloft..I am not a teen but for me I took 50mg a day and it really helped thru the time when I needed it..it usually takes a few weeks till it starts working....I am not one to take meds I usually perfer the more natural holistic approach and when I went off zoloft that is what I did..diet , exercise, vitamins...meditaition (yoga).

Hope all is well sending you peace and strength your way

Hi there, Sunrise 1--Of the many many SSRI's that I have been through, only just recently did they try Zoloft on me. Due to actual situational stressors in my life, I was unable to handle it after 1 month at100mg. a day, so I called doc, and they told me to stop, as I am older, and it was having adverse reactions on me; which I cannot afford at my age.

Do not consider my reaction as a "normal" one to this med. I react in exactly the opposite direction to most medications; I am highly resistant.

"to each his own"--it may work wonders for you--you have to try it out, as Valfor, and many others have reported miracles in their lives from this medication.

Please do not let me put you off, this was not meant to warn you off a medication that may well make your life soooo much easier---I am only reporting that it did not help me... (((((Sunrise1))))) and (((((valfor)))))--theo

oh, and welcome to pc Sunrise 1!!!
Thanks for this!
