Hi there, I was just wondering if anybody has found any successful treatments for anxiety and panic other than the use of meds? Your input in this regard will be most appreciated. Thanx

Well, therapy, of course -- my T does Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which is AWESOME and works well for my anxiety.. although she is on vacation and I'm starting to get worse.. blah..

Also vitamin B, omega-3's, magnesium, yoga, bike rides, and jewelry-making. All of these have helped me

I am a great believer on cognitive behavioural therapy and a therapist, but as you say if your therapist is not there you begin to get worse again. Would it not be better then to find a type of self therapy.

Rexa, I see you mention yoga, have you ever heard of mental yoga exercises like the Bagha?

Thank you both for your responses so far.

Meditation and yoga are apparently good ones. I've just started to meditate, I can see already there could be great benefits in calming your mind.

Also ... therapy, if you can find a good one (my therapist is working on 'de-sensitisation' with me for my anxiety - it is effective). My favourite is self help books, they're absolutely wonderful in my opinion.

Also walks in nature help to calm me down or just being in the countryside.
Thanks for this!
