I've been short of breath, shaky, dizzy and sweating for 2hrs now. I haven't had this problem in years. I'm off my meds right now until I can get in to see a psychiatrist. Anything I can do to calm myself down?

Did you go off your meds suddenly? Sometimes that can do it.

Have you tried deep breathing/meditation? Would it help if you imagined that you were in a peaceful place, focusing on your breathing at the same time?

Yes, I stopped them because I had an allergic reaction and couldn't even wean off. They were just starting to kick in too.

I've been trying to relax and just breath, as of now I'm feeling a little better, but I feel like I ran a marathon because I'm so out of breath.

I would go to the doctor, get a physical; but then, I have asthma and being short of breath is a health thing for me, not a mental health thing. I would make sure I don't have a physical problem.

I've learned to ride out the panic attacks, the more you try to make it stop, the longer it will last.

They never last forever!
