Hey all,

I had a job interview at a grocery store over a week ago, and I was informed that I would hear from them early this week, Well, it's Thursday, and I'm still waiting. But while I was surprisingly calm before and during the interview, I've been feeling nervous the past couple of days. I know all I can really do is wait at this point, but I can't seem to stop this nervous feeling.

I don't really know why I'm posting this. Guess I just needed to get it out somehow, and this seemed the best route.

Waiting for an answer or for test results or anything of that nature is really difficult! I definitely find it very anxiety-producing too. And the longer the wait, the more anxious I become.

I really hope you get the answer you want very soon!

Hello Koala,

It can be nerve wracking to through the waiting stage because you never know how it will turn out. I really hope you get the job and that it makes you really really happy, do some deep breathing and grounding and do something else to take your mind off the worry and concern,

((((hugs))))

I know how you feel. I am okay until the time passes when I am suppose to know something and then I get nervous. I have even called to see if they needed anything to get some idea of what is going on. I am working on patience. I don't really have any. Just letting you know how you feel.

You could alleviate the anxiety of waiting by contacting them to thank them for the interview. That will also show them you have a high level of interest in the position and you can ask if they have filled the position yet. If they have, you can ask to be considered for any other position they may have now or in the future.

Good luck!
Thanks for this!

I tried calling the store but after I was linked to the recruiter's line, I was met with a recording telling me that if I was calling to check on the status of my application after an interview not to leave a message, so I just hung up. I guess they aren't done interviewing people or something <shrugs>

That's good that you called.
You could also send a thank you fror the interview by note or email for the same purpose: to stand out and to attempt to get a response.
