I was actually totally housebound for five entire months because of anxiety and panic. When I was able to go to a doctor specializing in it, he taught me some pretty cool self hypnosis tricks and visualization/breathing that helps me a LOT.

My panic and anxiety aren't caused by specific fears or thoughts of things.

I know when you are in severe panic you need meds, too and believe me I take them - though sometimes I can get so panicked it would seem that even a horse tranquilizer couldn't calm me down!

Anyone try those sort of exercises? What do you recommend?
Thanks for this!

My aunt (now 89) did a lot of self hypnosis work 20-30 years ago and use to help herself feel warmer if she'd forgotten a jacket on a cool day (she worked outside a lot after she retired from teaching).

There's even a professional psychotherapy and medical hypnosis association in the US.

I need to find one around my area My issues are just about out of control.... again About a year or so ago, I was unable to even go to the grocery store Then all leveled off due to the med's... but somehow now all the emotional stress from last spring and summer... it just piling up I am glad to hear you have received help, w/o more drugs.... did your DR have a speciality?
