I have noticed many times in life that if you want something; you must give up something in return and that will cause you pain. I soon realized that is just the compromise if I want anything out of life pain shall be the compromise something important that we are all forced to give up. Something you can't ever get back. Something that makes you lose the most important pieces of yourself.

You may have heard the phrase "win-win solution." That means an outcome where everyone is satisfied and no one feels like they've been taken advantage of. Of course, if you need to buy something and you hate spending money, that may well lead to an outcome that includes pain. But if, like most of us, one earns money in order to spend it, then there won't necessarily be any concommitant pain. I think your way of seeing things is unnecessarily dreary and painful. I don't think it's the only way to look at things or to structure one's life or its daily transactions. Think about it. Roll it around in your mind. Try to find out WHY you think the way you do. It IS possible to change the way one thinks, if one really wants to. There may be some hidden advantage for you in thinking the way you do. Maybe (just maybe) you LIKE feeling pained. Maybe your way of thinking answers some other, deeper need of yours. Only you can find out. Only you can tell. All an outsider can do is tell you that other people have other ways of looking at similar situations and transactions. You say you can be forced to give up "[s]omething that makes you lose the most important pieces of yourself." I'll tell you flat out, that sounds quite strange to me. Of course, I probably don't understand the deeper meaning of what you're saying, but I strongly believe that most people conduct their lives so that they get what they want WITHOUT losing "the most important pieces of" themselves. Please think about it. A very Merry Christmas to you and all those you love. Take care. ![]()
