For those who have an RX for it, what are your experiences with the drug? any insight/recommendations/advice for someone who is new to all of this?

Thanks!

I took Xanax before they changed me to Klonopin. The main difference I noticed was that Xanax was faster onset but didn't work as long. For fixing that sudden anxiety/panic attack that is easy to overcome with a little help. Klonopins take awhile (sometimes up to an hour) for me to feel a huge difference, but the effects last longer. They changed me to this after the Xanax weren't keeping me calm long enough. I needed to step up bc my anxiey was all the time instead of little short bursts like they were in the beginning.

Perhaps you need something with a faster onset???
If I were you, I would ask the doc about that. I would start at the bottom and work your way up, you know? So you are taking as little of the drug as possible to keep you calm. You might just need "quick fixes" instead of the longer ones the klonopin provides.
