Hi all, I´m curious to know what meds you are taking for your anxiety and panic attacks?? I´m changing meds soon and don´t know what could help me coz I´m very sensitive for side-effects.
At the moment I take lithium 2000mg for bipolar1, and Fluanxol Mite 1mgx2 and 25mgx3 Sobril for anxiety.

Can you tell me about your meds, dosage and side-efffects?

Grateful for any reply on this subject.

I'm taking a few different medications but the one that seems to help my anxiety isn't an anti anxiety med, it's an SSRI, Celexa. I take 40mg a day, I've had no bad side effects accept drowsiness that went away after a few weeks

In emergencies, I take lorazepam (0.5mg-1mg).

Non-emergencies, I take Seroquel 25-100mg. I just started taking Seroquel like this and it's not working for me. I take 500mg (400 XR, 100 IR) at night.
Thanks for this!

I'm currently just taking Clonazapan (0.25mg) as needed(I try to leave it was long as possible before I do because of the addiction potential), but the last refill's nearly out, so may not be continuing with that one. I haven't noticed any real side effects, but then, I don't take it often, and I take a really low dose.

I take 300mg of Wellbutrin daily. It was prescribed when I went in for panic attacks, and it seems to have stopped those for the most part. I'm just more generally anxious, which is an improvement of sorts. I have energy. I can get through an entire day without needing to nap. I can't even describe how life-changing that is for me. I can focus on things a bit better.

I've taken Ativan in the past. It curbed acute panic juuuust fine.

I'm not sure any of that will help you, but there ya go.

I take Clonazapan .5 mg twice a day. They made me sleepy the first few weeks I took them but that wore off.

I currently take:

Buspar 20 MG 2x day
Lexapro 10 MG

Xanax - .25 as needed.

No side effects from any of these. Buspar made me really dizzy until we added the Lexapro.

Alprazolam (Xanax) 0.25mg - taken as needed

This stuff kicks *** against panic attacks, but it does have addictive traits and you can only be prescribed so much of it at a time.

I was prescribed a daily med called Sertraline 50mg (a.k.a. Zoloft) for anxiety as well, but I'm personally too reluctant to take it. I prefer taking medication only as I need it.

I take zoloft for the anxiety and even at a low dose it does help. Then I have ativan and seroquel PRN. I can go months without taking them as the zoloft has taken the brunt of it.

I take klonopin .25 mg in the morning and .25 mg in the early afternoon and then 1.25 mg throughout my sleeping hours. No bad side effects. I think the morning and afternoon doses keep high anxiety at bay. The evening dose just helps me sleep better.

I have been on a few.... sorry my memory is crap - so I can not name them accurately. I know cymbalta was the last one I was on and currently I am on buporpion hydrochloride (boy does that flow off the tongue) for depression and I dont recall what my anxiety med is.

Personally I think that depression meds are a scam. But, I am sure SOME people can be helped... so I do not want "everyone" to give up on them - cuz maybe they will work for you.

Zoloft helped tremendously with my anxiety, but I had sexual side effects. I wish I was able to take it though. My Lexapro is good, but Zoloft was awesome.

I'm talking xanax .25 3x day, but my primary will not refill, wanted to give me buspar nut that just makes me too tired and I need to be 100% functional, so he wants me to see a specialist. Washing his hands with me I think. What's the lowest dose of buspar and does it make you dizzy or tired or feel like u lack energy?

I take BusPar 30mg twice a day, Risperdal 2mg twice a day (but if I start having flashback from my past abuse by men, I can take an extra 1/2, as needed), Zoloft 150mg once a day for OCD, Anxiety, and Panic Attacks, and Xanax 1mg at bedtime as needed to help me sleep at night because I have more anxiety at night than during the day. The only side effect I get is drowsiness especially if I take my Zoloft in the morning or late evening so I take it in the afternoon instead. The BusPar or Risperdal doesn't make me have any side effects. And the Xanax only makes me drowsy at night to help me sleep.
