I am under a ton of stress atm.My chest literally hurts, and I have no idea what to do.The last time this happened I went to the ER by ambulance and found out I cant take ativan and wasn't having a heart attack it was just a reaction,my heart is healthy.I don't even have gas in the car to drive myself there and try to get them to help without being all dramatic about it.Since I had that reaction to ativan idk any options.I know I am stressed for a grip of reasons, but I have never felt this level of stress or not in this way...idk.I'm scared. How can I know if it's a heart attack w/o going to E.R ,and damn if it's anxiety I guess I am s.o.l anyways.Point being...whats the difference between severe anxiety and a serious issue?

I'm no doctor wolfsong, but are there walk-in clinics where you live? Maybe that wouldn't seem as dramatic as going to ER and you would be more comfortable with the idea. They would send you to ER if they thought it necessary. Your age of course is a consideration as well. If you are young, chances are good it is stress. If you are older, well that could be another matter. Do you have a neighbor or friend you could call if you don't have gas in your car? Hope your symptoms pass quickly.

Want to say thank you for replying Muncie, cute name too.I went to my regular doctors office at the kaiser permanente, and saw the 'on-call'.I almost believed my heart would burst. I told him what was going on and he increased the zoloft.Which other than aleeve is the only drug (prescription I will accept)....and I asked what I could do about the anxiety,on a more natural note...he again suggested melatonin,as they did for my sleep issues. So that's good.I hadn't taken the melatonin since I got back because I get nervous about sleeping. As I said,I am very leery about any drug that may cause a dependance (even though I am able to literally 'switch off' anything that I deem detrimental to my/or others welfare) and the ativan simply sent me into a terrifying state.Being able to sleep in the camper tonight will afford me the security and comfort to sleep well.So that should help too.I got turkey from the deli, and fresh veges and fruit and naked juices too.So basically I feel hopeful. The heat and electrical is all working out there, and I didn't know, but apparently the camper WAS secured to the truck while I was gone. That feels good to know.I was going to move things out there today but I got caught up in this stupid anxiety. It's 9:30 and I barely got home.So I just didn't have the energy or time.Thank you for your reply.

wolfsong, I'm glad you're feeling better and the panic has subsided. I hope the increase in Zoloft will settle things down for you. You took the action that was necessary to get help, good for you!!

(((((((Wolfie)))))) I'm sorry you were so anxious. I get chest pain from anxiety too. It's horrible. I'm really glad you went to the doctor to get checked out. (I have Kaiser too! ) I'm keeping everything crossed for you that the increased Zoloft will help. I take Zoloft too ( ) and I find it does help with my anxiety, even though I wish it would help more sometimes.
It's good to hear that you will be safe in your camper tonight and I really hope you sleep well. Thinking of you and sending __________________ Peace is every step ~ Thich Nhat Hanh |
