I am 57 years old and I want to finally address what I am assuming is an anxiety/phobia problem.
I have had this problem as long as I can remember. When I was in band in high school I had to go to contest and during practice I was just fine but when it came to the actual performance where I was being judged, I would get tremors and shake and couldn't play. I also noticed that every time I got into a confrontation I would get these same tremors, my heart would beat fast and I would shake uncontrollably. This has plaqued me all my life. Whenever I go for a typing test, I can't type because the minute they say go, I go to pieces and my hands shake so bad I can't type. In my later years, whenever I get stressed or get into a confrontation, I get the tremors, shake all over, my heart races and I go to pieces so I avoid confrontation at all costs. What can I do to stop this madness, at this point in my life I can't take it any more. Is there a medication I can take? Please help! |

I understand exactly how you feel about confrontation. It makes me shake and I avoid it.
When I was in band I had no problem with playing or performing, but if I was late I would be too scared and wait until the perfect moment until going in because I didn't want to draw attention to myself. There are definitely medications you can take. Have you tried talking to any professionals about this?
