Hi all,

I suffer with GAD and recently have been quite anxious about things going on in my life. Also recently i've been getting weird headaches. They're very sudden and severe and are in the back of my head, near my neck. I also get nausea with them and nothing helps them go other than lying down. I've been to a doctor and they can't find anything physically wrong, do you think this could be down to my anxiety?

I know anxiety can trigger a lot of symptoms - I have suffered from migraines for the first time ever over the last 2 years and I think for me these may be connected to my anxiety.

I guess if the doctors have checked it out and given you the all clear, it is not something to be overly concerned about (although maybe you should go back if they are continuing and ask if they could be connected to anxiety) - but I know from my headaches they really knock me off my feet and mean I have to take time off work - have your doctors given you any meds you can take for the headaches?

I have those headaches too but have related mine to particular food/drinks (especially some beers) and/or posture (sitting at the computer all day on a "soft" couch without back support).

You might try drinking a glass or two more water a day, if you don't drink many liquids, especially straight water; your brain uses a lot of your water resources for your body so if you are slightly dehydrated. . .http://nutrition.about.com/od/hydrat..._headaches.htm

But it could be anxiety, any "stress" we put on our bodies can cause various aches and pains depending on our individual physiology.
