Hi,
I've been looking around on the internet about OCD, and I guess I didn't really find out until today that a lot of other people have the same symptoms. I think my OCD first started just a couple months ago actually. It's so weird, I have a bunch of odd habits, Especially tapping habits. They keep changing, like last month i'd always tap a doorway 3 times, but now i tap doorknobs... I have certain numbers I like: 3, 7, 13, 17.... Basically anything ending in 3 or 7, and I don't like even numbers. Or sometimes, even weirder, I'll tap something like a table 7 times, do that three times to make 21 taps total, and then do that whole pattern over 2 more times, to make 63, another favorite number. Oh my gosh, this all sounds so stupid when I write it down. Does anyone else tap things too???? And I have even weirder habits, like reading chapter titles seven times, keeping the volume at one of my favorite numbers, counting steps I take, withought realizing it until I hear myself whispering them, If I make a mistake while writing something, I have to redo it three times total before I'm satisfied, once I even tried to find the number of tiny holes in the ceiling of my Science class. I find myself always correcting other people's spelling mistakes, and I feel that I have to edit them. I don't have any problems with dirt or germs at the moment, and I hope I'll never develop them. I don't worry too much, but sometimes I think about too many "What if's".
Alright, please reply, I'm looking for some advice about what to do, and I'd also like to hear if anyone has the same weird quirks.

.you'll be happy to know that to another person with ocd...all your quirks make perfect sense.....lol.......i also have ocd and have had it for 30 yrs or more.......your counting quirks are very much an ocd thing......i have had every obsession and compulsion there is including the counting one.....when i clean i have had to wipe things off to the count of 6.....when i closed doors i would have to pull on the handle 3 times......every doorknob in my house is broken! lol..but let me give you some good news.....i have eliminated 98% of my symptoms through meds and therapy and live a fairly ocd free life!....i suggest that you see a therapist and talk to her about meds.....i was on prozac for over 10 yrs......worked well for me but the sexual side affects got to me so i switched recently to effexor cr and that is working well too....there is hope for you! lol.....i'm here if you need to talk......
