I don't want to push drugs - but this is a good one for me.
My Doctor was part of the original team testing this old blood pressure drug on Vets with PTSD. He gave me a prescription, and it certainly helps with Panic Attacks at night. It's not a sleeping pill - but once you're asleep it helps prevent panic attacks. I still get PAs at night, but they are rare. Just FYI. |

I was prescribed Prazosin after a horrible car accident. It didn't help me at all, and I continue to have nightmares and flashbacks to this day. I guess it works for some and not so much for others. I'm glad it's working out for you though!

Yeh, Prazosin acts by blanking out specialized chemical receptors (called alpha-1 receptors) at the surface of the cells. Indeed it is generally employed to address benign prostatic hypertrophy, and more so effectual in treating nightmares in the setting of PTSD.
