Has anyone been diagnosed with Misphonia or Selective Sound Sensitivity Syndrome?

If you have, have you tried anything to get over it (integration therapy, aversion therapy)?

Hi,
I am not seeing any treatment exist for your cause. you can try bioears soft silicone earplugs which are squishy, once you have used them you can wash them and re-use them a few times. Once you have the earplugs in it's a little like being underwater. You can still hear louder sounds like people uttering but the softer (more annoying) sounds are drowned out a little.

Alternatively you can consult an audiologist who may be able to help. As of yet there is no actual treatment but you can have sound therapy to see if it can help a little.

I'd suggest getting adequate sleep every night as well and finding a way to relax. Sleeplessness and anxiety bring the symptoms worse in many cases.

I use earplugs at work a lot because the sounds bother me so much.

Thanks for the response...
