so, I've been feeling better on 40mg of Prozac but I'm finding my anxiety goes to 11 (anyone a 'This Is Spinal Tap' fan?). I wish I could feel normal for once and that life would quit throwing me curveballs so I could actually assess my depression/anxiety.

Today, high anxiety. I was off work. I listed a very expensive item on Craigslist and basically had all day panic about who was going to come look at my furniture and whether they were going to kill me (I know--been reading too many articles about CL killings in my area lately). Talked to a very nice lady today so I'm feeling a bit relieved about the meeting tomorrow.

Questions: does paranoia often accompany anxiety? Does Prozac help any of you with your anxiety? Mine seems so high lately and I hate living like this.

Suggestions?

I am on 10mg Prozac and it is a wonderful drug but no, it does not help with anxiety. My anxiety is not accompanied by paranoia though, it is just a garden variety anxiety without a rationale to it.

I think you need a drug for your anxiety. Next visit or sooner tell the pdoc how bad things are!!

Prozac did kind of help for anxiety for me, but caused some pretty nasty side effects, so I had to get off of it. I agree with missbelle, you sound like you need a medication that will help the anxiety. As for paranoia, I have a lot of that, and I'm fairly sure it is related to the anxiety.
