I got an email today from the CEO of my company. The email said that our company had been sold. I had this happen at the last company that I worked with. With the new owners came new management. With the new management came many losses of jobs beneath them. It was a very scary and stressful time of my life. The fear struck me again today. My mind began to race and I was concocting several different things in my mind in order to prevent a loss of my job - or what I needed to do to get a new one. I realized that I was going crazy in my head so I stopped and picked up one of the many recovery devotionals in my arsenal. Today's reading fit so perfectly for my struggle today. I don't think it was a coincidence. I found peace after reading this - peace that was found outside of food. Thank God. I thought I would share with all of you. I hope that this encourages at least one other out there.

"The stillness within me has all my answers. Today I will take time to pray, slow down and connect with the quiet wisdom in my inner self. I will use this time to contemplate my existence, my direction and my source of serenity.

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed when I ponder all the possibilities of the future - a multitude of choices all permeated with uncertainty. I can get so caught up in the whirl and swirl of tomorrow that I forget to fully enjoy today.

I will take time to quiet myself so that my thoughts will not race. My thoughts slow down and I delight in the calm and serenity my quiet times bring. Guided by my calm inner wisdom. I will take my tomorrow in stride."

-Daily Affirmations for ACOA's August 28

My prayers are with all of you

Thank you for sharing this!! I have those days all the time where my mind just races through all the possible scenarios and I end up trying to blame myself. No bueno. I really like this affirmation though!

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Everything will work out exactly the way that it's meant to, and everything will be a-okay. Just the fact that you knew to turn to affirmations to find your peace shows how truly strong + amazing you are.
