Hi everyone,

So I have been a mess lately and had to stop taking my Adderall for ADD because the side effects were so severe in me (migraines, worsening anxiety, nausea, liver shut-down, and aggression) that it outweighed the benefits. It really helped with my productivity though; just didn't agree with my body. In addition, my SI thoughts have increased vastly and I think about self-harm much more than I used to. I don't think that's related to the Adderall; I think something is awry. (Just to be safe, I am putting the trigger icon up today.)

I mentioned this to my doctor and she wants me on a new anxiety medication in addition to my anti-depressant Celexa called Buspar. After having negative reactions with Ativan and now Adderall, I am a little hesitant of taking new medication, though I know that I really, really, really have to. Has anyone had any experience with Buspar and can give pros/cons about taking it? I would greatly appreciate it.

Sunshine

I've seen several posts on Buspar here. The consensus is... either it works for you or it doesn't I've tried it and it did absolutely zip, zilch, nada. That was the only con I experienced. I've seen the same thing posted by others. And then some people say it worked great for them. I hope it works for you
Thanks for this!

I took it and it took the edge off of things, but after awhile it stopped even at a high dosage, so I went on to a new med. Wellbutrin is what I'm on now and it helps with my depression and ADD all in one. It's getting to the point now though where I will probably have to up the dosage again.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
