The root of anxiety is lack of personal sense of control in one's life. Our society has gotten to the point where the intrusiveness of societies frustrations and opinions of "you need to have this, say this, look like this, or you are not good enough" is most definitely at a higher level than ever before. There is too much aggression in our society now and the "stress" level and conflict has gotten to a point where it is constant exposure with all our technology that hooks us all up to a point where even our children are exposed to constant stimulation to the point where they stress if they can't have these devices that keep them constantly interacting with less and less quiet time and personal space without constant distractions and stimulation's.
