I needed to come here and post cause I don't know what else to do to avoid getting depressed about it. Basically was watching this

after seeing a different video in which these two complete jackasses were going around doing awkward things on a train. One of his "Pranks" was to sit down in front of some girl, compliment her, and then just says "Screw it. I have to go for this" or whatever and he starts kissing her and she is startled but into it. Just talking about me watching the videos has my anxiety through the roof. I don't really have a question, just needed to say how stupid I think it is that my body gets so stressed out and anxious over the thought of kissing someone. It's nuts. I just threw up a little bit. Ridiculous. I'm hoping when I go to my first appointment I can work on this anxiety and hopefully it translates into me not being so so panicked about being with the opposite sex so I can get on with life and really live it instead of participating vicariously.

Thanks for listening. I just figured out what it is. Pain. I rarely feel this.

Hi! It's okay to feel some anxiety over kissing. I know it's common. Maybe you're having a bit more than some guys, but it's not anything you can't overcome. I'm sure getting therapy will help.

I remember the first kiss I got from a guy. He sort of took me by surprise and I wasn't sure how to act, so I kept my eyes open, and I guess got even a bit bug-eyed. Ha! Now I'm an old lady who has been married almost 25 years and kissing just happens. It just takes practice!

You take care. You'll be okay. As folks say, eventually you'll be "doing what comes naturally."

I think it's mostly that fear that the person will be like "Clearly you haven't kissed many people before, and you're 28, what's wrong with you?". You know, classic irrational fear that I'll run into that one in a million girl that will choose to publicly humiliate me. It just seems like the older I get, the more fear I'll have. I really think switching to a french immersion school in grade 7 was the difference between me living a normal life and the one I ended up living devoid of human interaction and normal coming of age things. All my friends went to a different school and of course when I joined their school in grade 8 it just wasn't the same, and the kids I knew from Elementary were totally different people of course.

FERFA I absolutely hate kissing. How gross. Someone elses tongue in your mouth, yuck. Nasty, not appealing, totally gross. My H and I have been married for 18 years and still yucky. Who knows you might find a girl who doesn't like to do that.

You know my past and even before man issues I didn't like to do that. Kissing yuck. Reminds me of Charlie Brown Christmas, where Snoopy kisses Lucy and she says get soap , get hot water, dog germs. Well it's kinda that way, man germs. yuck.

This is a non-issue because there is no right or wrong way to kiss. Delete it off your worry list.

Kissing is amazingly fun and Sexy, but worrying about that first kiss, not so much... I really think you are putting so much pressure onto yourself, which is going to increase any anxiety. I don't know what practical advice to offer that doesn't sound condescending, but maybe talking it through with a T or a very trustworthy friend...?
