Some of them don't make any since - I guess the most recent one dose but...
See I have had urine incontinence problems since birth - and after hearing lots of teasing, exc. due to that through school, I didn't want to hear it any more, and after graduation, I didn't for the most part, until about 4 years ago when I was in a medical hospital - I actually fought not to stay there, I kept saing reason was because I smoked, and you can't smoke in the hospital (forgetting they will have Nicotine patchesd) because I thought it was ridiculous to think that might be a problem in a hospital.
Problem is, it WAS a problem for the CNAs (at least 2 of them). I ended up in a soaking wet diaper for 3-4 house on quite a few occasions because they didn't want to deal with it, and the second I attempted to take care of it myself (never easy but after 3 hours, I don't care if I have 2 broken arms, I'll find a way), then right there to give me a hard time about it!
Also when they finally did do something about it, there comments direct right at me, were actually far more hurtful than those kids at school ever were! HOW DARE A HOSPITAL OF ALL PLACES DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT - AND FOR NO REASON AT ALL BESIDES JUST DON'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED!
That was not the hospital I normally use, but now because of it, I am really afaid to use any doctor that dose not work out of the one I will use (other is closer to where I live now, that's why I tried it in the first place) - and after that I doubt my normal one whould have gotten a chance if I weren't really still sick when I left that one.
That at least makes since - but stuff like basically any sort of search for any reason bothers me enough to avoid that situation - it doesn't have to be detailed, just a metal detector, and I won't do in the building to avoid going through it. - And a tox screen - under no circomstance do you get one - not even under court order, unless you are one of MY doctors, and then the resaults MUST NOT leave that office - and they absolutely won't get a monitored one. - You can have all the urine you want, but if I know you are specifically watching me get it, I refuse (and a cath to get it, so it's not a psch thing, just can't, the cath forces the bladder to drain regardless, I I won't do it if you are making it a point ot watch, but (this happens a lot) if I am in the middle of doing it, or even just started, and a nurse or whatever walks in, I will keep doing it, as long as it seems like they just wanted to know if I had it yet, or take blood while that is going exc. that's fine.
There is also a great deal of concern about frankly wanting any information at all in any medical data base - it even bothers me that my insurance company see the names of the medications I am prescribed - because again privacy issues - they are not treating me, therefore they have no right to know anything - and you can figure out a least roughly what is wrong with someone by what meds they take.
There are plenty of others, but kick those around for now.

I agree. That hospital was not the least bit appropriate in how they acted. You say you've had this problem since childhood? I know some older women develop it--at least what's called stress incontinence.

I'm wondering if the meds they take for it might be useful for you.

Yeah, phobias definitely cause life problems. I hope things get better before too long.

Yes literally my whole life - and it's actually being called Overflow incontinence to put a type to it. But it really seems to come down to bad nerves - now at the time in the hospital, it just leaked, since there seems to be a retention issue as well (actually DX is Nerogenic Bladder) But up the main issue is definately a nerve one. Type, DX, whatever, all I know is I don't recall ever actually having any sort of sensation for a full bladder - yet it all seemed to function fine, just without any actual feeling - I know, od...But I seem to have lots of issues that mask as something else, or cause problems that are hard to locate. Cerebral Palsy is present, but it's such a mild case, a definite DX was not made until age 18, before that it was general DX that could have covered a lot of things. And I seem to still be find small but chronic medical issues that by them selves it's noting, not bad at all - but combinr them all together, and it's a bit over-whelming.
And Hadn't thought about Psych issues at all since high school, but it's starting to look that that's the same sort of thing (no one big issue - but lots of small ones all adding up to - ENOUGH!) - I hope that makes some sort of sense.

I wondering if the damage to your brain (the cerebral palsy) also affected the nerves leading to your bladder. Just a thought, anyway.....

More than just a thought.... - No one has ever actually said that - but based on my own research, I would have to say, since that issue has existed since birth, and CP had to regardless of when a name was actually put it it - I would have to say logically, that is highly probably.
