I had a total meltdown at work today. I'm a waitress, so it was a fairly public one & being considered one of the best for over 8 years with the same company I screwed it up in less than an hour. I always thought as long as I can do my job, I'm not dysfunctional. now I am humiliated & not sure I'm able to work anymore. I can't take the stress!

IMO the meltdown was caused by stress that
was built up for some time. I had the same
thing happen to me. I started going to therapy
and it has helped me. I also joined a support group.

I do follow a strict med regimen as prescribed by my gp & usually can function fairly well low key. My biggest concern about this episode is right after the panic hit I blacked out (or checked out) for an unknown amount of time & when I come to, I'm unemployed & unsure of my ability to fuction properly in any aspect. So I'm scared, sad, & broken. So tired

I think it would be good if you can be seen by ur GP ASAP. She/he may refer you out. I'm not sure if ur in the US but unemployment could be an option. I can completely understand how u feel. It's been a yr since I worked. I've been very afraid of if I could handle working. Well next month I'm starting a job. I've learned abt my condition and have learned so coping skills. Contact me by DM anytime.

This site is a blessing for all of us who thought we were alone. I do live in the usa, but, unemployment is very hard to get when you're not quite sure what happend. I've been trying to see my gp, but am uninsured. My experience is, don't trust the whitecoats if you can't pay. been commited before. I have 7 yr old twins who need me & just can't risk it
