Are these things normal?
  • Anxious cos we have no carpet, feel like the room is messy and untidy
  • Anxious when my jewels come of my phone cos then its a odd number of jewels
  • Anxious cos signs on the road are not straight
  • Gotta read things three times- otherwise bad things happen to people
  • Going Dr's and getting anxious cos my boyfriend doesn't close the screen when you arrive
  • Get anxious when there are dirt on me
  • If anyone has has sweat on them i cant have them touching me cos i feel contaminated
  • Have to have nail vanish on my nails only, if they are on my fingers i get anxious
  • Anxious if i chuck things out that are broken/don't fit anymore
  • I need things lined up like paper together or my bed sheets on me
  • I get anxious if things are not tidy
  • Can't have my food mixed cos i feel its contaminated
  • Need to repeat things in my head three times before it comes out of my head to make sure it sounds right
  • The volume on my TV/radio has to be on an even number or i get anxious
When i was younger as a teenager/young, i used to do these things..
  • I feel unbalanced if I step on a crack in the pavement
  • I count the steps as I go up stairs
  • In my school/college work- If i had two mistakes on a piece of paper, I had to start again
I feel like I will have panic attacks and my heart beats faster when these things happen..

Obsessive compulsive disorder is what you describe. Of course the disclaimer no one can diagnose you online. And no, it is not normal. In some cases people live with a slight and stable disorder which is not too alarming, but if you are fairly young and the behaviors are increasing in number, getting targeted therapy is a really good idea, because OCD can feed into itself and soon got you pretty trapped. It's much better to start while the behaviors are not overwhelming.

Yep sounds like OCD, though it would be good to get an official diagnosis. I have it too, and my father had it. I have all kinds of stuff around counting, straightening, things being out of order. I memorize words, letters, digits, slogans, jingles, tunes, and use them to keep track of things in my head. I also have disturbing and unwanted thoughts about things and can't stop obsessing about something once it's in my head. It's really hard to let go and move on.
It is possible to live with it. It's harder for some than for others. But one thing I've been told that does help is CBT.
