Riight, So i went back to my GP and after 10 minutes of when seemed like irrelevant chit-chat she printed me off a 28day prescription for Citalopram 10mg 1-a-day
I go back for a review on 3.5 weeks; she said she'd start low and build up as needed. I've heard such mixed things about Citalopram, Have you tried it? If so how was it for you?

Overall, it's not that bad. I was on it, when I was dealing with losing both my mom and my marriage, at the same time.
There's some little side effects. I didn't gain weight the first year, so if you are mindful of diet, it might not happen. 10mg is low dose, that's what I started, when I went on it. Then built up, slowly over time, that's a split pill, right? I worked up to one pill and 1/2. 30mg?? Helps with anxiety!! What mixed things, do you worry about?! |

I find it helpful I have been on them for about 4 years now (20mg) along with duloxetine (60mg) I haven't gained any weight with it either.

I hated it. It flattened all of my emotions and made me feel really lazy and unproductive. I eventually just stopped taking it.

hi fuzzycashew, this is exactly what I take, 10 mg citalopram. It works pretty well but it doesn't seem quite enough and often I take an extra half. also it doesn't build up in your system like prozac for instance so if I forget to take it, I often feel like I am going to crash the next day or the day after. also I have put on weight but that is probably due to bad eating habits, so I don't really know if citatopram contributed to that in my case. good luck, I hope you can find what works!

Thanks everyone, I'm really hoping that i see some improvement. I'm going to try and watch what i eat more than ever because i do battle with my weight already
Did anyone find that they feel sick about after taking them? about half hour after taking them i've felt sick to my stomach both times. I didn't get told that may happen but i guess everyone's different !

The side-effects have been worth it for me. I started 20mg in april, then 40mg starting last month. I had insomnia, drowsiness, and a crazy feeling like i was stoned. Now I can do a lot that I couldn't do before, like ride in elevators and make phone calls at work.
