Yes, I used to do it everytime I went to the store. Finally worked with a counselor and got over it with the help of breathing exercises and other technics. It's a terrible feeling. Once i had to have my 8 year old(at the time) lead out of the store. I was embarassed.

Hi there yes I used to and still do get this a lot and it always seems to happen in the same place or store.
My nurse told me how to control my breathing and believe it or not I used to carry little flash cards in my pocket that said things like DON'T WORRY, and NOTHINg BAD IS GOiNG TO HAPPEN. I laughed when it was suggested however its an idea that's simple but effective. That's not to say I still don't get that dreaded anxiety panic attack feeling but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Take care J |

I actually get that even when I'm in a group of friends. It's overwhelming to be surrounded by a lot of people and that can bring on a panic attack.
What I do when that happens is breath in and out slowly and, if nessicary, go to the bathroom and rinse off your face to calm down. If it gets really bad you might need to leave the store before you break down in hysterics.
