Hi everyone! As you all know I am on Duloxetine 60mg. But I was still having really bad anxiety and panic attacks so I went to the doctors and he has given me some Diazepam (Valium) 5mg. So I was just wondering if anyone else on here has taken it and if so what kind of effects it had on your anxiety/panic attacks?? If it helped or if it didn't please just share your experiences.

Thank you!

Valium has a good rep for working very well to relieve anxiety. It has a really long half life so you don't have to take it as often as something like xanax. The only issue I have heard about valium is that it gives many users a "euphoric effect" which make the user tempted to take it more than prescribed and create "addiction" if you have that kind of personality. Personally, I would suggest Klonopin as it has amost the same half life as Valium, works just as well for anxiety, but is far less likely to be abused as you get no "euphoric effect". The majority of people who have issues with Klonopin abuse it by taking it with other drugs such as excessive alcohol or to come down from a coke/crack high. As a side note, Valium is often used to help people taper down from Klonopin and Xanax to avoid rebound panic attacks and withdrawal. Hope this helped and good luck.
