I was prescribed it for migraines and it made my head hurt worse, gave me crazy moodswings, agitation and increased anxiety. the dr wanted me to up the dosage. I wasn't willing to and stopped taking it.

Read as much as you can about the drug to see if what you find sounds like a good fit for you. It's all we can do, be our own health advocate. Try it if what you read seems right for you. "For you" are the operative words here. Every single body is different & will assimilate a drug differently. I too was given this for headache and it was not a good fit for me, same as FrayedEnds.
I hope it works to give you the relief you seek

sorry! I got gloomy and doomy, didn't I?! thank you NWgirl for being better at writing reviews than I am.
I have issues with medications (and dr's) and sometimes I need to not make that so obvious.

I'm in that medicine for some nerve pain in my hand. Isn't helping a ton, but any help is worth it. Never heard of it for anxiety tho. Interesting....

I was prescribed this as an add on med when my anxiety is really intense. I find it a great comfort. It does make me pretty tiered a couple of hours after taking it. I take 300mgs as needed.

I find it calms my whole body--better than the Xanax does for me. Also, a little bonus--it makes me feel a little "high" sometimes, making me feel good, which is a welcome addition given that I have depression most days also.
Yes, I am very careful of it, I can see how it could easily become abused and understand why it is a controlled substance.
So far, I have enough smarts to only take it when panic is bad. I don't want to ruin one of the few good things I have that takes away the panic.
My Pdoc wanted to put me on it full time, but i declined. I was afraid of not having it work for me after being on it for too much time. Don't want to ruin what I find to be a miraculous fix for me.
My panic is so bad. I have it every single day and through the night also.
I have anxiety, and then I also have the panic which is different.
Lyrica has helped me tremendously. There are some times though that I am just too far gone for it to work and then I just have to ride it out.

Hope this helped and good luck to you. I hope you find some relief
