I've had anxiety & panic attacks for 8 years, and i need ways to cope & i also want to share and ask your opinion..

My anxiety is crazy the smallest things can make me shaky, and make me lose control,i don't know the last time i didn't spend a part of my day shaky, i also have the social anxiety which last week is worse then i thought, i went down the street with my mum, and i couldn't help but think people were staring at me judging me and i had this urge to need to harm, i ended up shaking and to try stop it i started scratching my arm, i scratched so much that i made myself bleed...

Panic attack wise, i can have either a small attack or big one, my small attacks usually last between 5-10minutes , but a big attack depending on what has happened can last for me between 30minutes-4hours, the longest I've had was 4 hours, i was very suicidal & triggered, i was shaking like mad, there were voices in my head & i couldn't control anything, i broke things & was crying a lot, i ended up passing out in a corner in my room, the next morning i was still shaking & couldn't breathe right..

So i ask, what are your experiences do you have any good tips to control it, am i the only one with the freaky attacks?

I have severe anxiety, but I doesn't sound nearly as bad as yours. I have chest pain nearly every day. I manage with medication and breathing and relaxation exercises. I tried hypnosis once and that worked for two months, I was anxiety free. it was wonderful. I just started with a new therapist who does hypnosis so hopefully we will take care of it for good. take care.

The best way I describe my panic attacks is "like a hot flash on steroids" As far as coping i keep adding to my tool box by keeping notes on what works and what doesn't. I am always watching for tips and ideas from others. I keep a list on my computer. If and when I am able to get to my computer I read them to remind me what I can do and also try ones I have not used before.

I am so sorry you had to go through that. I have been writing to try to control my anxiety. As well as walking it has been peaceful
