My dr prescribed Lexapro today for GAD. I'd like to hear your experiences from it. It's still at the drug store and I'm debating on whether to pick it up or not. I've read soooo much bad about it, weight gain, side effects, brain jolts, hard to get off of. Also, I've read that the generic is not effective but the brand name is. Am I better off with the anxiety?? Thanks for sharing.

Sorry, no experience with Lexapro, I take Effexor XR for clinical depression and GAD I believe Lexapro and Effexor XR are similar. I love my Effexor, it is the only drug I'm truly aware when I'm out and have missed a couple of days. As with any of these drugs, even the generic is expensive. Good luck!
