So yesterday my therapist tells me that my foot shaking is a physical "retriggering" of my anxiety.

????

It is how I release anxiety. Yet she (who I admit knows a lot more than me) says it subconsciously is re-triggering my anxiety and I have to work on stopping it.

WTF.

I feel like I am going to snap

That doesn't make sense.....seems like its something you end up doing to relieve nervous energy, not doing so would just make it build up quicker I'd assume.

Since I don't know what it would be retriggering, but I can say when I'm feeling anxious my right arm shakes. When my anxiety is triggered it really shakes. You might want to ask your T to explain the correlation.

I think anything you're body does like shaking, tremoring etc just assists the body in reving up the anxiety. I think that's what they were refering to. That physically stopping the tremoring can possibly stop the anxiety/panic attack or prevent it from getting worse.
