I suffer from agoraphobia, severe anxiety and have ADD. I currently take zoloft, Depakote, Risperdal and Adderall. And some of these meds are supposed to help with anxiety somewhat. But I'm finding that when I have to go say to the store not long after taking my Adderall that my anxiety and panic attacks are much more severe and debilitating than say if I took my Adderall several hours ago. So I called my doctor to talk about putting me on something a little stronger and more aimed at helping my anxiety. But he said that cause the meds I'm on should help with that he wasn't going to. But it has gotten so bad that I have to make a list of what I need from the store and him get it or just go without cause I can't bring myself to do it anymore. I can't switch my ADD meds either cause I've been on them all and these are the only ones that work. So does anyone know of anything over the counter I can take or what I can do to help? Cause I'm out of ideas. I've learned to accept my anxieties a long time ago and I'm used to the attacks when I have to go out. But not this bad. I at least used to be able to leave I'd just have to deal with the consequences like an attack. But now I feel completely trapped. Please help!

Dumb question, isn't Adderall a "speed like" drug? If it is, it would make sense in my non professional medical brain that it would affect your anxiety going to the store, particularly if it is fresh in your system.
First thing I would do if I could, I would get a second opinion on the combination of meds. I always hate when a doc says no because of what you are already taking. It just makes them look like arrogant SSOBs in my book. There are almost more different combination of meds than PDocs out there. If your doc refuses to explore options he just appears lazy and disinterested. Second, have you experimented with aromatherapy? Most natural food stores have a section of essential oils. At first I mixed Lavender with some almond oil in a roll-on stick and would apply it under my nose and pulse points. It would help with anxiety. Then I discovered Jasmine essential oil. I love it! I will put some on the collar of my shirt, on my pillow, or under my nose and it too works. Good luck!
